A tiny snow day

We had the tiniest dusting of snow, so of course, we had to suit up and play for a few minutes. This happens only about once a year. Last year, we had a really good one and I made a MOVIE about it. This year, we just snapped some photos. Is this me getting lazier? I hope not.

Is that a HALO!?

Regis loved it.

Three. The Movie.

It's epic-lengthed. Seriously. Way too long, but time is moving along so quickly that I don't want to skip anything and forget it. So, if you have 15 minutes to watch the sweetest little guy on the planet, here's your chance.

SNOMG!

The video really does all the heavy lifting for me this time. Just watch and enjoy Shepard watching and enjoying his first real snow...followed by a few pictures of him in snow when he was much smaller (sigh). Sorry for the delay. I have had numerous technical difficulties getting this one saved and published (???). It's has taken about a week and a half to get it worked out. Oh well. ENJOY!

Whoa. What's going on, Mom? January 2011

Don't worry, I was only sitting here like this long enough for Mommy to snap three pictures.

It's a new year's miracle!

Last January, I lost our camera. We had a great little point-n-shoot that we had painstakingly researched and chosen. We also have a "real" camera, but I don't like taking that to the beach or using it in high humidity...or when I'm toting 27 pounds of child + his gear.

So the camera has been missing ever since. I kept thinking it might show up...and it never did. On Saturday, I decided to go ahead and purchase a relatively inexpensive point-n-shoot to replace our Sony. I hated to spend the money on something I was sure we had, but if I hadn't found it after a full year, what were the odds? I thought perhaps I had dropped it out of the car or something. As I was sharing with Jerod that I thought I might use a gift card to replace the lost camera, I whispered a prayer that we would not buy a new one if our old one was findable. I didn't really give God a timeline, but just asked that He would help me find it in the next week or two. I had a sense that I should check coat pockets. Now, I have been thinking and searching for this camera for a FULL YEAR. I knew I lost it last January. I have torn my car apart, closets, etc. looking for it...

Fast forward to tonight. I finally remembered to check the coat pocket (we were in the car when the other discussion/prayer happened). The first coat I went to...and there it was!!!!

Here are some sweet pictures that were trapped in my coat pocket all year from 1-11-11. Snow Day. A snowy little trip down memory lane.

Snow Baby!

I took a whole entourage to Bristol, TN last weekend. The Christmas production I'm in, The Birth, was performing two nights at King College in conjunction with the Buechner Institute (Frederick Buechner wrote the better part of the source material). All of that to say...what a lovely drive through the mountains! And on Saturday morning, we were greeted with a dusting of snow. Just enough to make everything lovely, but not to make things treacherous.
Of course, this was Shepard's very first snow. I'm quite sure he won't remember a thing. And he didn't really seem all that enthusiastic about it. But then again, he is just five months old. I'm going to have to update my own snow wardrobe to be sure that when our next Carolina snow hits, and he is old enough; I can get out there and make snow angels and all the rest with him. (leave it to me to make it about a wardrobe issue!)
So, here are a few pics of Shepard's First Snow! And this darling carriage we found just sitting on a side street. Jerod would not let me climb in. So we just stood there for a moment while Nana snapped away.

When in doubt, check it out...with your mouth

Mmmmm. Hand.

That's for real cute.

Look. White.

Are we about done here? 'Cause it's warmer in the car.
