Our little pumpkin
One year ago yesterday, we found out about our little "pumpkin." That's what we called him until we found out he was a he. And here we are one year later. An armful of pumpkin-y goodness! This isn't his official halloween costume, but just a super-cute jammie set from Grandma J.

Whose child is this?
Shepard will often be doing something fun or funny; but when I reach for the video camera and get it going, he sometimes gets shy. (I wonder if he's mine!?! I mean, really.) Here's Daddy defending Shepard's right not to be a trained monkey. :)
It's Fall, Y'all!
We were able to hit the Windy Hill Orchard Apple Festival last weekend. The sun was bright, and it was a beautiful day. Shepard hung out with some pumpkins...after he took a long nap. Mommy was delighted to get a caramel/candy apple! Next year, he'll probably really enjoy the pigs, goats, hayride, etc. This year, we just had a nice time being outside under the beautiful Carolina sky.
We are Three.
We had our photog-friend Mike Lamb take some pics of us in August. Our first "Family portraits..." Here's one...{Shepard was about 5 weeks}

Birthdays and Pictures!
We have lots of October birthdays to celebrate. Grandma Jones was yesterday...the 13th.
Aunt Jessica is the 15th and Papa Giles is the 20th!
I don't know how it's happened, but I still don't have a picture of the baby with Aunt Jessica (shoot!).
Happy Birthday, everyone!

Pictures with Papa...
We said goodbye to Papa Jones last Friday. Just in body...he lives on in our memories and in our hearts. We will surely miss his presence here on earth. Here are some pictures from Saturday, Oct. 2. It was a long week, but good to be among our family and even extended family.

We love you, Papa Jones
We had an amazing Saturday. The Lord saw fit to bring all four grandparents together for the first time. As it happened, it would also be the only time. We said goodbye to Papa Jones just this morning. ON Saturday, he was in good spirits and we enjoyed the beautiful fall weather at Glencairn Garden for a few hours. I will always treasure the pictures we got and this video. (they didn't know I was taping until I started talking...) He's on the far right.
I'm so thankful for the time we had to be with him, and that he was able to share in Shepard's life if only for a few months.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 18. I thank them for the heritage of commitment that they passed on to Jerod. Mr. Jones passed on a love of nature, music, antiques and a tenacious work ethic to my own sweet husband. I am forever endebted to him for the man that I married.
We love you, Papa Jones. And Lord, be with Rosalie and the boys and family in this time.
